Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Plantation, FL 33324 (South Florida travel nurse opportunity)
• Job Title: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) / Cardiac OR Nurse / Perioperative Nurse
• Assignment Type: Travel (Travel Nurse – CVOR)
• Duration: 13 weeks (March 9, 2026 – June 8, 2026)
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 10 Hour Days (6:45AM - 5:15PM)
• On-Call: Required — approximately every other day and every other weekend
• Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) – 2 OH Surgical Suites
• Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Scrubs: Provided by facility

CVOR RN Requirements & Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state-specific as required)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an acute CVOR / cardiac operating room setting
• Experience with CABG, MVR, AVR, pacemaker procedures, laser lead extractions, thoracic and endovascular cases
• Preferred: experience with minimally invasive cardiac procedures and perioperative cardiac care
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced surgical environments and function independently as a CVOR nurse

Key Responsibilities (Cardiac OR / Perioperative)

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure adherence to infection control standards throughout surgery
• Prepare and verify necessary surgical equipment, sterile instrumentation, and medications for the operating room team
• Document surgical progress, intraoperative events, and postoperative outcomes in the electronic medical record (Meditech)
• Handle and label surgical specimens appropriately and ensure chain-of-custody procedures when required
• Ensure patient safety, quality control, and compliance with perioperative policies and protocols
• Provide cross-coverage or lunch relief in service lines as needed, including Vascular, Robotics, General, Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Urology, Podiatry, Thoracic, and Plastic Surgery
