• Position: CVOR Registered Nurse (CVOR RN) / Cardiac Operating Room Nurse / Perioperative Nurse (Travel)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120 – $2,230 (travel nurse pay)
• Location: Vero Beach, FL 32960 — Vero Beach nursing jobs, Florida travel nurse opportunity
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 21, 2026 – July 21, 2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour (06:00 – 14:30); 40 hours/week
• On-Call: Cardiac call required (2-3 days/week; minimum 6/month; may increase if short-staffed)
• Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital (Cardiac OR)
• Charting: EPIC (electronic medical record experience preferred)
• Scrub Color: Ceil Blue
• Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
• Smoke-Free Facility: All travelers must be nicotine-free

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of direct CVOR experience required; 2 years preferred (Cardiac OR, CABG, TAVR, valve procedures)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.; pending license accepted
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of submission
• NIHSS certification (must obtain prior to start)
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs; perioperative flexibility encouraged
• Negative 10 Panel + Nicotine (cotinine) drug screen required
• First-time travelers accepted — great travel nursing job for new travelers
• Must complete time-sensitive onboarding modules prior to start; EKG and Pharmacology tests required during orientation (2 attempts max)
• Two references from a direct supervisor/manager required
• All requested time off must be submitted up front

Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR) for cases such as CABG, MAZE, mitral valve replacement, TAVR, and atrial septal defect (ASD) repair
• Participate in cardiac call rotation and respond to emergent cardiac surgical needs as scheduled
• Assist with other surgical specialties and cases when CVOR cases are not scheduled
• Adhere to infection control, fire safety, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol procedures
• Manage specimen labeling, wound management, and administration of blood and blood products according to facility policies
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC to support patient safety and continuity of care
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Complete all required orientation modules and facility compliance requirements prior to or during orientation
