Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Unit: Family Services (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, GYN/Pediatrics)
• Number of Beds: 19
• Patient Ratios:

  • Labor & Delivery: 1-2:1
  • Postpartum: 3:1
  • GYN/Pediatrics: 3-4:1
• Staffing: Nurses, Unit Coordinators, Manager, Director
• Equipment: EFM, beds, pumps, etc.
• Documentation Systems: Meditech Expanse, CPN Connect
• Scheduling: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Floating Policy: May float to other units as helping hands, sitter, or virtual support
• Dress Code: Unit scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience, including experience within the last year
• Labor & Delivery (L&D), Postpartum (PP), and LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience
• Nursery/NICU experience
• Certifications required:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Skills & Experience

• Must have Labor & Delivery and Postpartum experience
• Experience with LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) preferred
• Nursery/NICU experience is a plus
• Advanced skills for procedures such as versions, circumcisions, and C-sections
