Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
- Location: Wilmington, NC (Zip: 28401) — Wilmington, North Carolina coastal area
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: Night, 3 x 12-hour shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours/week
- Unit: ED Holding Support (Float Pool) — Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Patient Ratios: 1:6 for MS/Tele, 1:4 for PCU-level patients
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Orientation: 24 hours
Qualifications (Med/Surg Tele RN / Travel Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (clinical telemetry and med/surg care)
- Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State required at time of start
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Comfortable floating to ED, Med/Surg, and affiliate hospital units as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment covers holiday periods
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses in the ED Holding Unit and float pool
- Monitor and manage telemetry, dysrhythmias, and rapid response situations (Telemetry RN duties)
- Administer blood products and manage peripheral/central lines, including PICC lines and feeding tubes
- Care for patients with renal failure, colostomy, tracheostomy, and chest tubes
- Utilize respiratory support equipment including CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and oxygen delivery systems
- Perform phlebotomy, wound care, and manage isolation precautions and infection control
- Float to other units based on census and skill set to provide staffing flexibility and clinical support
- Participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team response as required during catastrophic events
