Job Details & Pay (Cardiac Stepdown RN / Travel Nurse)

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 - $2,060
• Location: Dayton, Ohio (zip 45409) — Ohio nursing jobs, Dayton travel nurse jobs
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 13, 2026
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours with OT after 48)
• Patient Ratios: Targeted 1:4, may be up to 1:5-1:6
• Unit: ME6 Medical – Inpatient, Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry
• Floating: Required; may float to main, south, or north campus (all within ~15 miles)
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Required (every other weekend/holiday)

Required Certifications & Qualifications (Telemetry RN / Cardiac Stepdown)

• Minimum 1.5 years recent Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry RN, or similar acute care experience
• Active RN license (any state; compact accepted) — travel nurse friendly
• BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must pass online EKG/telemetry competency assessment before start
• Experience with stable chronic ventilators and ventilated patient care
• IV start skills preferred; central line and peripheral line management experience
• Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to other units and work every other weekend/holiday

Key Responsibilities (Cardiac Telemetry RN)

• Provide high-quality nursing care for cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients across adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips, vasoactive infusions, insulin drips, and heparin protocols
• Interpret telemetry, identify and manage dysrhythmias, and respond to cardiac events
• Care for ventilated patients, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and enteral feeding tubes
• Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral IV lines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, IV team, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Float as assigned to support main, south, or north campus units
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC and complete required orientation modules
