Job Details & Pay (Cardiac Stepdown RN / Travel Nurse)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 - $2,060

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: April 13, 2026
- Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours with OT after 48)
- Patient Ratios: Targeted 1:4, may be up to 1:5-1:6
- Unit: ME6 Medical – Inpatient, Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry
- Floating: Required; may float to main, south, or north campus (all within ~15 miles)
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Required (every other weekend/holiday)
Required Certifications & Qualifications (Telemetry RN / Cardiac Stepdown)
- Minimum 1.5 years recent Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry RN, or similar acute care experience
- Active RN license (any state; compact accepted) — travel nurse friendly
- BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Must pass online EKG/telemetry competency assessment before start
- Experience with stable chronic ventilators and ventilated patient care
- IV start skills preferred; central line and peripheral line management experience
- Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to float to other units and work every other weekend/holiday
Key Responsibilities (Cardiac Telemetry RN)
- Provide high-quality nursing care for cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients across adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Monitor and manage cardiac drips, vasoactive infusions, insulin drips, and heparin protocols
- Interpret telemetry, identify and manage dysrhythmias, and respond to cardiac events
- Care for ventilated patients, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and enteral feeding tubes
- Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral IV lines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, IV team, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Float as assigned to support main, south, or north campus units
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC and complete required orientation modules
