Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- Location: Baltimore, MD 21215 (Baltimore healthcare jobs / Maryland nursing jobs)
- Contract Duration: 14 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 5 x 8-hour (06:45 – 15:15)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
- Patient Population: Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
- Average Daily Census: ~40 surgical cases per day
- Weekend Coverage: Required
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN or Perioperative Nurse experience
- Valid Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission (Maryland nursing license)
- BLS certification required
- 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course (required by 27th week)
- 8-hour annual trauma CEUs (required)
- Required: Trauma Level II experience; Preferred: Trauma Level I experience
- Preferred: Previous charge/lead OR experience and experience with Cerner charting system
- ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications preferred
- Professional references required (please include with application)
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide safe, age-appropriate perioperative care as an Operating Room RN (circulating and scrub roles)
- Support patients and families as an advisor and clinical resource throughout the surgical experience
- Circulate and scrub for a broad range of surgical procedures: trauma, ENT, colorectal, plastics, neurosurgery, surgical oncology, oral/dental, laparoscopic, urology, ophthalmology, GYN, general, orthopedic, robotics, vascular, thoracic, and more
- Utilize advanced surgical technology, including the da Vinci Xi Surgical System and other robotics/laser systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Transport, Unit Secretary) to ensure coordinated perioperative care
- Maintain infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and universal protocol compliance
- Float within the facility as needed, within scope of practice
- Participate in annual and specialty-specific competency modules and continuing education
