Job Details
- Job Title: Mammography Technologist / Radiologic Technologist (ARRT (R)/(M))
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 – $1,940
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (On-site)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
- Shift: 8-hour days, Mon–Fri 9:00 AM–5:30 PM; occasional Saturdays as needed
- Hours per Week: 40
- Setting: Women’s imaging / breast imaging facility – screening and diagnostic mammography
Required Qualifications (Mammography Technologist)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a women’s imaging center, breast center, or mammography setting
- Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) Mammography certification (ARRT-M)
- MQSA-compliant training and documented mammography numbers (200/2 years); initial 40 hours and current continuing education
- 8 hours digital mammography and 8 hours digital tomosynthesis training (on-site training available if needed)
- BLS certification required
- IV certification and competency in invasive and sterile procedures
- Experience with screening mammograms and advanced imaging views (magnification, spot compression)
- Comfortable floating to other breast imaging facilities as needed
- Required uniform: pink top and black pants
Core Responsibilities – Mammography / Breast Imaging
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms (average ~38 screenings and ~18 diagnostics per day)
- Perform and assist with stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations, and contrast-enhanced mammography procedures
- Perform digital tomosynthesis (3D mammography) and advanced imaging views (magnification, spot compression)
- Document patient records and imaging using Cerner and PenRad systems
- Present complex cases confidently to radiologists and collaborate on diagnostic decisions
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care—especially for patients with cancer history and prior treatments
- Work collaboratively with a team of 10+ technologists in a large, award-winning breast imaging facility
