Job Details
- Job Title: Mammography Technologist / Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R/M)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 – $1,940
- Location: Mission Breast Center, Asheville, NC 28801 – Asheville mammography jobs / North Carolina healthcare
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Travel Mammography Tech)
- Shift: 10-hour days (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), Mon–Fri; occasional Saturdays as needed
- Hours per Week: 40
- On-Site Position: High-volume breast imaging center – women's imaging / breast center
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in mammography and radiologic technology (mammography tech experience)
- Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) Mammography certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- IV certification and demonstrated competency with invasive and sterile procedures
- Screening and diagnostic mammography experience; proficiency with advanced imaging views (magnification, spot compression)
- MQSA compliance: Initial 40 hours mammography training, current continuing education, required mammography numbers (200/2 years), 8 hours digital mammography training, 8 hours digital tomosynthesis training (on-site training available if needed)
- Experience in a women’s imaging center; sensitivity to patients with cancer histories and strong patient care skills
- Ability to float to other breast centers within the health system as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms using GE Senographe Pristina equipment (digital mammography and tomosynthesis)
- Demonstrate proficiency in advanced mammography imaging and confidently present complex cases to radiologists
- Assist with stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations, and contrast-enhanced mammography procedures
- Document patient information and imaging studies using Cerner and Penrad systems
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care—especially for patients with cancer treatment histories
- Collaborate with a large team of technologists in a high-volume breast center (breast imaging technologist role)
- Adhere to required dress code: pink top and black pants
