Job Description

• ER Registered Nurses are needed to work at main and satellite free-standing ER locations within a 90-mile radius.
• Schedules will be assigned by leadership.
• Must pass a Dysrhythmia Exam within two attempts during compliance or face automatic cancellation.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• I9 or Attestation.
• Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport).
• Background checks including 7-year county criminal search, sex offender search, and federal exclusions (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG).
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation; updated annually.
• Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months; annual updates required.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for all travelers).
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella – positive titers or documentation of vaccines.
  • Hepatitis B – vaccine series and positive titer or signed declination form.
  • Varicella – positive titers or documentation of vaccines.
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season).
• Drug screening: 10-panel test within 30 days of start (no rapid screens).
• Photo for badge (passport style preferred).
• Completion of facility-specific forms including job description acknowledgment and security questionnaire.
• Two professional references within 3 years of hire.

Additional Information

• Candidates must pass the Dysrhythmia Exam within two attempts or face automatic cancellation.
• ER RNs may be assigned to satellite ER locations within the local area.
• Candidates will be provided study guides for required competency exams.
• Some certifications and exams must be renewed or completed annually.
• Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines require proper documentation and approval.
