• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 – $1,540 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102 — New Mexico nursing jobs / travel nursing jobs in Albuquerque
• Setting: 32-bed Med/Surg unit (4th Floor)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 4/13/2026 – End: 7/13/2026)
• Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (18:30 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours straight time)
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts within each 6-week period
• Documentation System: EPIC (EPIC charting experience preferred)
• Scrub Color: Any (no hospital logo)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — New Mexico RN or Compact RN accepted; pending accepted if obtained prior to start
• BLS required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience (medical-surgical nurse experience)
• Experience managing a patient ratio of 1:6 on med/surg night shift
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record preferred
• First-time travel nurses accepted — open to travel nurse applicants
• Ability to float to like units within professional scope
• Not accepting local travelers (must be outside a 50-mile radius)

Responsibilities – Medical-Surgical RN (Night Shift)

• Deliver high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy 32-bed Med/Surg unit
• Manage a patient assignment of 1:6 during night shifts consistent with facility standards
• Provide clinical nursing procedures including CVA care, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, and pre/post hemodialysis support
• Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, perform phlebotomy and PICC line care
• Perform IV starts, heparin/insulin administration, PCA management, and surgical drain/chest tube care
• Manage respiratory support including high-flow nasal cannula and oxygen administration; apply isolation precautions as needed
• Lead wound care and wound VAC management for surgical and complex wounds
• Float to similar units as needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Social Services, and others
• Complete onsite orientation and required onboarding modules; utilize EPIC for documentation
