PCU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract in Youngstown, OH (zip 44504). 13-week PCU/Stepdown Travel RN opportunity; ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke required. Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry RN delivering care to cardiac stepdown, respiratory, renal, stroke, and post-op patients.

• Shift: 12 Hour Nights — Night Shift Travel RN, Telemetry RN

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio or a compact state (required) — Registered Nurse, Travel RN
• BLS and ACLS (required)
• NIH Stroke Certification (required)
• Dysrhythmia Exam (required; study guide available)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (required); 6 months acute care hospital experience preferred
• Previous cardiac / vascular or telemetry experience preferred (Telemetry RN, Cardiac stepdown experience)
• EPIC EHR experience and Critical Care Course (preferred)
• CCRN or PCCN certification (preferred) — critical care and progressive care credentials

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze clinical data, and develop individualized care plans for PCU patients
• Administer medications safely and accurately and manage IV drips and titratable medications
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and manage cardiac drips (heparin, cardizem, amio, nitro, insulin)
• Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines, wound vacs, and multiple drains
• Provide care for patients with multi-system organ failure, trauma, and complex medical needs in an acute care setting
• Coordinate patient care and act as the primary point of contact for care coordination and discharge planning
• Serve as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement and clinical initiatives
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to ensure optimal outcomes
• Respond confidently and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions while following AACN Synergy Model and BSMH Nursing Professional Practice Model
