• Position: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN / Critical Care RN / Travel RN)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina (Zip: 27870) — North Carolina nursing jobs / NC ICU travel nurse
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30), every other weekend — Night Shift ICU RN
• Unit: ICU-CCU (8 beds) — Critical care / Coronary Care Unit
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Scrubs: Black

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required (ICU RN / critical care experience)
• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State (Travel Nurse friendly)
• Current BLS and ACLS; NIHSS certification required
• Ability to float to all units (2-3 times per month)
• Must adhere to 80-mile local radius rule
• Preferred: Critical care certification (CCRN) or equivalent

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for patients with sepsis, stroke, DKA, pneumonia, CHF, hypertensive crisis, acute encephalopathy, COPD, and other ICU diagnoses
• Perform and assist with procedures including TEE, bronchoscopy, lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, cardioversions, and targeted temperature management
• Administer and monitor vasoactive and sedative drips (e.g., Levophed, Vasopressin, Heparin drips, insulin drips, Propofol, Precedex, Fentanyl, Cardene, NTG)
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment: cardiac monitors, ventilators, IV pumps (Alaris), tele-health systems, bladder scanners, SCDs, vein finders, feeding pumps, glucometers, Doppler, and Train of 4
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, case management) to deliver optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient safety and quality standards in the ICU-CCU
