Job Opportunity: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 14 weeks)

Job Description

• Float pool assignment required.
• Must have recent experience using EPIC electronic health record system (within last 12 months).
• Block schedules may be considered on a case-by-case basis; indicate if needed.
• Solid black scrubs required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience (within the last year) in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry nursing.
• Recent experience in Charge RN roles.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.

Immunization and Health Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination required prior to start (medical or religious exemptions considered case-by-case).
• MMR: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
• Hepatitis B: Proof of complete vaccine series or titer required; signed declinations accepted.
• Influenza vaccine required during October-April (medical or religious exemptions only).
• Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
• Tdap within 10 years recommended.
• Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) required with specific timing guidelines; no declinations accepted.
• Annual TB questionnaire must be completed and signed.
• Fit test for N95 respirators required annually.
• Pre-employment physical within one year confirming ability to perform essential job functions.

Background and Screening

• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, including a comprehensive list of substances.
• Criminal background check with 7-year search, SSN trace, and nationwide checks required within 90 days of start.
• OIG and EPLS federal exclusion checks within 90 days of start.
• Education verification through third-party.
• Valid government-issued photo ID required.

Competency and Skills Testing

• Unit-specific competency exam required annually.
• Unit-specific skills checklist completed annually.
• EKG and Telemetry exams with passing scores required annually.
• Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, and OSHA topics must be completed within 90 days of start and updated annually.

Additional Notes

• Resume must include EPIC experience for consideration.
• Return to Office (RTO) documentation limited to 7 days maximum at submission.
• RN submission packet checklist must be completed and included with application.

This position is ideal for experienced Medical/Surgical or Telemetry RNs who meet the above qualifications and are comfortable working in a float capacity with strong clinical skills and certifications.
