Qualifications / Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience; Med/Surg experience required/preferred
  • Experience in rehabilitation, post-acute care, or similar inpatient settings preferred
  • Previous travel nursing or contract nursing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and measurable goals
  • Provide accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs, emphasizing patient education and quality outcomes
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from admission to ensure smooth transitions of care
  • Communicate changes in patient status to providers to support continuity and patient safety
  • Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel when applicable
  • Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and best practices
  • Maintain a positive, efficient work environment through teamwork, leadership, and calm decision-making
  • Assume charge responsibilities as needed after orientation and competency verification
  • Engage in professional development and continuing education to maintain clinical competencies
