Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Women's Center L&D/MB/PP

Location: Princeton, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Maternal Baby (L&D/PP/MB)
  • Number of L&D Beds: 12
  • Number of OR Suites: 1
  • Number of Triage Beds: 1
  • Number of Postpartum Beds: 4
  • Births per Year: 80-100
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines

Required Certifications & Skills

  • Basic Fetal Monitoring (required)
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring (preferred)
  • BLS Certification
  • Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines
  • Experience in Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum care
  • Ability to titrate drips (Oxytocin, Insulin, Epidural)
  • Ability to circulate and recover Cesarean sections (preferred)

Patient Population / Common Diagnoses

  • Gestational Hypertension
  • Gestational Diabetes
  • PreEclampsia

Work Environment & Equipment

  • Telemetry available; RNs read strips on OB unit
  • Monitor techs housed on unit
  • EFM System: GE Centricity
  • Respiratory equipment available: CPAP, BiPAP, Ventilator
  • OB techs available; no in-house OB/Neonatologist 24/7

Scheduling & Shift Details

  • Shifts: 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am (12-hour shifts)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
  • Call Requirement: 3-4 call shifts in a 6-week schedule; must be available and able to report within 30 minutes if called
  • Floating: None
  • Scrubs provided in-house
  • Unit-specific orientation provided intradepartmentally

Additional Requirements

  • Must include a copy of an unexpired driver’s license with submission
  • Licensing issues must be disclosed at time of submission
  • 100-mile radius rule applies for candidate submissions

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Experience with fetal monitoring and maternal-newborn care as described above

This position is ideal for RNs with experience in Labor & Delivery, Maternal Baby, and Postpartum nursing who are comfortable with fetal monitoring, titrating drips, and working in a busy OB unit following AWHONN guidelines.
