Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090 - $2,200
• Location: Rochester, NY 14642 (Rochester nursing jobs, travel nurse Rochester)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 15, 2026)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour days; 3 shifts per week; rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and call-back as needed
• Setting: Observation Unit — adult patients, emergency observation & admitted boarding (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit / PACU experience valued)
• Position Type: Travel Nurse / Contract RN (PACU RN, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in Med/Surg or PACU; perioperative background preferred
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization and documentation skills for adult observation care

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to a diverse adult population in a fast-paced Observation/PACU setting
• Perform post-anesthesia assessments, monitor vitals, pain management and airway status
• Evaluate patients to determine need for admission or safe discharge following established protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, ED staff and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Respond to on-call and call-back situations as needed and support charge duties during rotations
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation in the medical record
