Required Qualifications

• Active RN License (New York State only)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required (telemetry monitoring)
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS / NIH Stroke Scale Certification (preferred)

Core Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive postoperative and observation care for a diverse adult population in the PACU and Observation unit, including emergency observation and admitted boarding patients
• Perform continuous patient assessment, telemetry monitoring, and documentation to determine appropriate admission or safe discharge
• Deliver high-quality perianesthesia nursing care, including pain management, airway monitoring, and hemodynamic assessment
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (surgery, anesthesia, physicians, and allied health) in a 24/7 provider coverage environment
• Participate in rotating shifts and unit duties such as on-call, charge responsibilities, holiday and weekend coverage as needed
• Maintain patient safety, infection control standards, and accurate clinical documentation during the observation/postoperative period
