- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920 – $2,020

- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (20:00 – 08:30)

- Unit: Med Surg 4 West — Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry (27 beds)

Job Requirements (Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry RN)
- Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac Stepdown or Telemetry RN experience (MedSurg/Telemetry)
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA only). CPI and NIHSS required
- Epic charting (Epic EMR) experience required
- Comfortable floating to specialty sister units and lower-acuity MedSurg units as needed
- Ability to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse eligibility)
- Two satisfactory professional references from most recent employers
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Responsibilities (Telemetry / Cardiac Stepdown Duties)
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and medical-surgical diagnoses (COPD, GI bleed, ESRD, cardiac dysrhythmias, electrolyte imbalances)
- Continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Manage patients on cardiac drips, IV insulin protocols, and blood products
- Care for ventilator-dependent patients, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, and patients receiving dialysis (peritoneal dialysis)
- Perform and assist with specialty bedside procedures including thoracentesis and peritoneal dialysis
- Manage central, PICC, and peripheral lines and wound care including wound vacs
- Operate and utilize equipment such as EKG, Zoll, Viking lift, and sit-to-stand
- Respond to rapid response and code team activations and collaborate in acute situations
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams: respiratory therapy, IV team, physical therapy, pharmacy, and radiology
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic EMR and comply with facility policies
- Float to sister units as required to meet patient care needs
