Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770 (travel nurse pay)
• Location: Morgantown, WV 26505 — West Virginia travel nursing
• Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Setting: 34-bed Medical/Surgical unit with telemetry
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (possible extension)
• Start Date: April 20, 2026
• Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30); includes weekdays and weekends (approx. 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:5–7 (patient ratio may vary by acuity)
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner (Cerner EMR experience preferred)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license: active West Virginia RN or Compact RN accepted (pending license acceptable)
• Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele RN experience)
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references within the past 2 years
• Must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility (75–100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Ability to complete hospital orientation, competencies, and required modules prior to start
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills, IV/central line/PICC management, and experience with acute adult medical conditions

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adults with acute medical and post-operative needs (medical-surgical RN duties)
• Monitor and manage telemetry patients, interpret cardiac dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response and code situations
• Administer medications and blood products, manage IV therapy, central lines, and PICC lines
• Provide wound care, manage surgical drains, chest tubes, and tracheostomies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, IV team, physical therapy, and pharmacy
• Document assessments, interventions, and care plans in Cerner EMR accurately and timely
• Participate in daily huddles, patient flow management, bedside rounding, and discharge planning
• Maintain infection control practices, isolation precautions, and PPE compliance
