Join a supportive Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown team caring for cardiac telemetry, vascular, post-cath, and med-surg patients in the Cleveland metro area.

• Location: Lorain, Ohio (44053) — Northeast Ohio / Cleveland area
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: PCU / Stepdown (33 beds)
• Patient Population: Cardiac Telemetry, Vascular, Med-Surg, Post Cath, Post Pacemakers

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Current RN license in Ohio or a compact state (required)
• BLS and ACLS required; NIH Stroke Certification required
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide available)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PCU/telemetry or med-surg experience preferred)
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, vascular, and med-surg patients preferred
• Travel nursing experience not required — open to new travel nurses

PCU / Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze clinical data, and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications safely and accurately, including IV drips and titratable infusions
• Manage drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, and Insulin
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry; read and verify telemetry strips once per shift in EPIC
• Care for patients with advanced respiratory support (Trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, Heated High Flow, nasal cannulas)
• Monitor and manage lines, drains, and devices (PICC, dialysis catheters, PEG tubes, ostomies, chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs)
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams and serve as a primary contact for patients and families
• Manage patients with multi-system organ failure or multisystem trauma when applicable
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
• Provide compassionate, relationship-based care and family support during acute illness and recovery
