Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: Rotate weekends, no call requirements
Unit Type: Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED)
Number of Beds: 11
Staffing:

Day Shift: 1 CNC, 1 RN
Night Shift: 1 CNC, 1 RN

Job Description

Must float to other FSED facilities as needed
Typical procedures include IV starts, 12 lead EKG, and patient assessment
Use of equipment such as ventilators and point-of-care lab machines
Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in the Emergency Department (ED), with experience within the last year
Certifications required:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED)
Candidates with less than 2 years of experience will not be considered

Work Environment & Culture

Dress code: Navy blue scrubs required
