Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience in a Med/Surg setting (Med/Surg RN experience required)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (compact license accepted where applicable)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills for acute care and medical-surgical nursing

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission on the med-surg unit
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner to meet clinical and regulatory standards
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from admission to ensure safe transitions of care
• Communicate changes in patient status to care team members to ensure continuity and patient safety
• Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing personnel and support staff as appropriate
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and infection-control standards
• Contribute positively to unit team building and a supportive clinical work environment
• Engage in professional development and continuing education to maintain clinical competencies
