Job Description

The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for prescribing and coordinating professional nursing care for assigned patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, directing, and evaluating total nursing care on a particular shift.
• Maintaining effective communication with other shifts for continuity of care.
• Participating in education, record maintenance, and policy upgrades.
• Following the ANA’s standards and additional specialty standards.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience:

  • One year of medical-surgical nursing experience required.
  • Telemetry and ICU experience required.
  • One year of nursing experience related to a specialty area preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current New Hampshire RN license (or compact).
  • ACLS Certification required; PALS Certification recommended.
  • Rhythm Recognition or Basic Arrhythmia experience required.
  • PCCN or CCRN Certification preferred.
• Skills:

  • Ability to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to direct others.
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically Allscripts Paragon.
