Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary services in accordance with practitioner prescriptions and hospital policies. The RT must demonstrate professionalism, knowledge, and skill while interacting with peers and patients, and must provide age-appropriate care to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary services.
• Work under the direction of practitioners and supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Clinical Supervisor.
• No call-schedule; the facility has 24-hour respiratory coverage.

Requirements

Education and Licenses

• Graduate from an approved/accredited Program of Respiratory Care.
• Current New Hampshire License/Registration required.
• Current ACLS certification or eligibility for certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• PALS and NRP certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• CPR certification required.

Experience and Skills

• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and techniques for respiratory care.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Five years of clinical experience preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• Familiarity with computer applications and willingness to learn software.
