Job Opportunity: Radiology Technician
Location: Joliet, Illinois
Facility: Saint Joseph Medical Center
Hospital System: Prime Healthcare Foundation, Inc.
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (12 months)
Work Schedule
- 8-hour shifts (7 AM - 3 PM or 8 AM - 4 PM)
- Rotating on-call duties: 2 days per week, 1 weekend per month
Job Description
- Assist physicians (Cardiologists/Radiologists) by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data during cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Prepare procedure rooms and ensure adequate supplies and instruments are available.
- Participate in departmental meetings, performance improvement activities, and training of new staff.
- Support both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
Qualifications
- ARRT-R certification and state licensure required; Vascular Interventional Technologist (VI) certification preferred.
- Previous experience in an Interventional Radiology department preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Proficient computer skills.
Required Credentials and Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID (Passport accepted in lieu of Social Security Card).
- Prime OIG clearance and Prime SAM/EPLS exclusion checks.
- Drug screening (minimum 10-panel test including THC) within 60 days of start.
- COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses plus booster) or completed declination.
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza (seasonal), Tdap, and TB testing.
- Annual respirator fit test.
- Physical/Health statement confirming fitness to work, updated annually.
- National criminal background check within one year of start date.
- Prime Core Competencies Exam with a minimum score of 80%.
- Prime Badge Photo (clear headshot).
- Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9).
- Completion of onboarding education and attestation.
- Completion of Essentials Onboarding Packet.
- Documentation of required skills and job description signed by employee.
- Other required professional and health history credentials as per facility policy.
Additional Notes
- Participation in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities is expected.
- Training and mentoring of new staff members is part of the role.
- Compliance with all credentialing and health requirements is mandatory for onboarding and continued employment.
This position is ideal for Radiology Technicians with interventional experience seeking a long-term assignment in a hospital cardiovascular lab setting.
