Unit Information

• Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Number of Beds: 5 ORs (3 open, 2 hybrid)
• Number of Staff: 15
• Staff Types:

  • Day Shift: RN, CST, AT, PCT
  • Night Shift: On call
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Equipment: Operating Room (OR) equipment
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Typical Procedures

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
• Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
• Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
• Aortic Replacements
• Vascular Procedures
• Heart Transplants

Required Skills and Certifications

• Must Have:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for scrub tech roles
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license for nursing roles
• Preferred:

  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) for nurses
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Work Environment and Culture

• Floating Area: Spine OR
• Dress Code: Scrub color/attire provided for OR staff
• On Call Protocol: 45-minute response time from phone call to clocking into the unit
• Shift Coverage: Weekends and nights covered by call shifts

Contract Length
