Travel RN Opportunity – Outpatient Burn and Reconstructive Clinic

Location: Denver, Colorado

Unit Information

• Unit: Outpatient Burn and Reconstructive Clinic (not a Burn ICU)
• Setting: Level 1 Burn and Reconstructive Center, verified by American Burn Association
• Patient Population: Patients with burn, hand, and reconstructive injuries; urgent care type triaging
• Beds: 5 rooms
• Staffing: 2-4 RNs per shift
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 4 RNs, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Night Shift: Not applicable
• Patient Ratios: Variable depending on the day
• Equipment: Occasional use of Hoyer lift and C-arm; primarily Meditech EMR and paper documentation
• Pace: Fast-paced, similar to an Emergency Department

Typical Procedures

• Suture removal
• Stable removal
• Wound care and dressing changes
• VAC (Vacuum-Assisted Closure) placement and takedown

Required Skills and Certifications

• Must Have:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Preferred:

  • Wound care experience
  • Orthopedic knowledge
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS
  • NIH Certification
• Licensure:

  • Registered Nurse License

• Experience with wound care and reconstructive procedures preferred

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
