Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical (Travel)

Location: Marion, Illinois

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP

Job Description

• Work on a 36-bed Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic unit
• Patient ratios typically 1:5 with a CNA, or 1:4 primary care if CNA unavailable
• Float to Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to care for medical holds only
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• No on-call or call-back requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (no pending or temporary licenses)
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Confident, independent nurse with strong adaptability and resilience
• Ability to manage change well and work effectively in a social team environment

• No local candidates within a 40-mile radius will be considered
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• COVID-19 vaccine not required (subject to change)
• Guaranteed hours except during holidays when the unit is closed
• Orientation week hours may vary and are not guaranteed

Summary

This is a travel RN position requiring at least 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience, working night shifts on a busy med-surg/ortho unit with occasional float to ED/ICU. The role demands strong clinical skills, independence, and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
