Registered Nurse (RN) - Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Glendale, Arizona

Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Facility Overview

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is a large, 890,000-square-foot acute-care hospital located in Glendale, AZ. It recently underwent a $290 million expansion including a new patient tower with all-private rooms, a new Emergency Department, and state-of-the-art surgical suites. The hospital is designated as a Level I Adult Trauma Center for patients 15 and older, capable of providing comprehensive trauma care locally.


Job Requirements

  • Location Restriction: Candidates with an Arizona home address on their driver’s license will NOT be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum 24 months of current CVICU experience required.
  • Certifications:
    • Must have active American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certifications at time of submission.
    • Required certifications include ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA).
  • Licensing:
    • Must hold an active Arizona RN license at time of submission.
    • License verification must be less than 30 days old.
    • No license hits allowed.
  • Vaccination: Flu vaccination required; Banner declinations can be applied for. Vaccination status must be included in submission notes.
  • Background: Banner has very specific background requirements that must be adhered to and attested.
  • Travel Experience: Preferred but not mandatory.
  • Return to Office (RTO):
    • RTO requests must be less than 7 days.
    • RTO will NOT be approved during the first week of assignment or on holidays.

Submission Requirements

  • Completed Banner Cover Page with all requested information.
  • Resume detailing all facilities worked at, including facility size, bed count, trauma level, and units.
  • Skills checklist specific to the discipline, dated within the last year.
  • Copy of driver’s license (must not show AZ home address).
  • All certifications and licenses active and included in submission.
  • Flu vaccination status noted.
  • Candidates must be pre-closed and ready to accept the assignment.
  • List all locations, shifts, and departments the candidate is willing to work in.

Additional Notes

  • Learning modules must be completed prior to assignment start.
  • Non-billable hours are adjusted to 16 hours per assignment.
  • Assignments may be canceled with 7 days written notice without penalty.
  • Start date should be on or very soon after the order start date.
  • Banner assesses a 2% payment discount fee and a 2% technology fee on all transactions.
