Job Description

• Position: Registered Nurse in Intermediate Care
• Unit Information:

  • 36 beds in a Med Surg Intermediate Care unit
  • Patient population includes stable patients, weaning from ventilators, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke.
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio: 4:1

Shift Requirements

• Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and holiday
• Float Requirements: May float to higher acuity units as needed

Requirements

• Licensure: Wisconsin RN License
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years in stepdown/intermediate/PCU required
  • ICU experience preferred
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Ventilator/trach experience required
  • At least 1 prior travel experience required
• Charting Experience: EPIC preferred

Additional Information

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Work Environment: Fast-paced unit; candidates should be hard workers, resilient, and able to manage change well.
• Scrub Colors: Any color scrubs

• Contractors must be outside a 50-mile radius of Aspirus Wausau.
