Shift Requirements

• Shift Type: 12-hour Day/Night variables (7a-7p / 7p-7a)
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and holiday

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Post Surgical Care Unit
• Patient Ratio:

  • Day/PM: 1:4 or 1:5
  • Nights: 1:5 to 1:7
• Occupancy Rate: 90-95% during the week
• Average Length of Stay: 2-3 days (except for joint surgeries)
• Admissions: Averages 10-15 admissions per day

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in Medical-Surgical nursing with recent hospital experience
• Certifications Required:

  • Wisconsin RN License
  • BLS Certification
• Charting Experience: Epic (required)
• Equipment Used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps
• Unit Specific Skillset: Experience in post-surgical care for adults and geriatric patients

Additional Information

• Radius Rule: Contractors must be outside a 50-mile radius of Aspirus Wausau
• Float Requirements: Must be able to float to all inpatient units with appropriate patient assignments
• On Call/Call Back Requirements: Not applicable
• Scrub Color: Any

• GSA hours are not guaranteed during the week of orientation. Travelers are guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed.
