Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ICU

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
• Shift Requirement: 12-hour Days
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend/every other holiday rotation

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:

  • Current Illinois RN License
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • NIHSS

• Minimum Experience:

  • 2 years of ICU experience (3 years preferred)
  • 1 travel assignment required

Skillset

• Required Skills:

  • NIHSS/dysphagia screen
  • Strong neuro assessment skills
  • Tele/EKG interpretation (exam on first day)
  • ETT/vent management (RT available)
  • Initiate/titrate sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, vasoactive, insulin, etc.
  • Sepsis protocols/care
  • Post ROSC therapeutic hypothermia protocol
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

• Preferred Skills:

  • tPa administration/assessments
  • Massive transfusion (Belmont)

Unit Information

• Bed Size: 18 beds
• Patient Ratio:

  • ICU: 2:1
  • Stepdown: 3:1
• Charge Nurse Responsibilities: Yes, charge nurse takes patients.
• Unit Strengths: Good core group of staff; increased volume necessitating traveler support.

Additional Information

• Scrubs: Navy Blue
• Covid-19 Vaccine: Not required (subject to change)
• Orientation: GSA hours are not guaranteed during the week of orientation; guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed.
