Travel RN Opportunity – ICU/IMC Float

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Specialty: ICU / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) Float
  • Shift: 7 AM – 7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Hours: Rotating weekends
  • Unit: ICU (16 beds), IMC including ICU Overflow (30 beds)
  • Patient Population: Adult / Geriatric
  • Patient Ratios: ICU 1:2, IMC 1:3 or 1:4
  • Float Requirements: Float between ICU main, ICU Overflow, and IMC (stepdown unit)

Required Experience & Certifications

  • Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience
  • Minimum 1 year travel nursing experience
  • ICU / Critical Care experience required
  • Preferred: Mixed ICU, Cardiac/CVICU experience
  • Certifications required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Certification
  • Current state nursing license required

Common Diagnoses & Treatments

  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
  • STEMI / NSTEMI (types of heart attacks)
  • Stroke
  • Trauma
  • Cardiovascular and neuro critical care
  • Medical-surgical ICU/IMC patients

Work Environment & Equipment

  • Facility is a Joint Commission Accredited community hospital and regional referral center
  • Trauma Level 3
  • EHR system: Medhost
  • Equipment includes Baxter Infusion Pumps and GE Monitoring systems
  • Dress code: Black scrubs

Additional Notes

  • No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts can be considered but not guaranteed
  • Orientation provided weekly
  • Shift preference flexibility is requested (day or night shifts)
  • Located near outdoor recreation with proximity to major cities such as Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the Grand Canyon
