Job Opportunity: Pediatric Audiology Traveler
Location: Arkansas (specific city/state not provided)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 5 PM, scheduled as needed
Patient Load: Typically 8 patients per day for diagnostic evaluation
Job Description:
- Focus on behavioral hearing assessment in children using techniques such as BOA (Behavioral Observation Audiometry), VRA (Visual Reinforcement Audiometry), and CPA (Conditioned Play Audiometry).
- Patient population includes children needing hearing loss confirmation or exclusion, often in conjunction with services like Speech, ENT, or oncology.
- The role is specifically for behavioral hearing assessment; other services like ABRs, hearing aids (HAs), cochlear implants (CI), and brainstem auditory implants (BAI) are performed by the team but not required from the traveler.
- Frequent interaction with students and new hires; expected to contribute positively to a supportive team culture.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of audiology experience, specifically in behavioral hearing assessment with children.
- Experience with the following equipment:
- Audiometer: GSI Audiostar Pro or Audiostar Pro 2
- Tympanometer: Maico EasyTymp or Maico TouchTymp (racecar)
- OAE: Maico EroScan
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Arkansas or Compact Audiology License required upon submission.
- Must have PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications prior to start.
Additional Requirements:
- Flu vaccination is mandatory (no exemptions).
- Must pass fit test for mask wearing (no facial hair allowed unless for religious reasons).
- Flexibility required for holiday shifts, including Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
- Time off requests must be submitted at the time of application; any time off not requested upfront will not be approved.
Notes:
- COVID vaccination is not required for this position.
- The role may convert to an automatic offer if the return-to-office timeframe is 3 days or less.
