Job Opportunity: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Key Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 24 months of current SLP experience (required)
- Licensure:
- Active Arizona state license required at time of submission
- License verification must be less than 30 days old
- No license hits allowed
- Compact license allowed
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Certifications must be American Heart Association OR American Red Cross, active upon submission and included in submission
- Vaccination:
- Flu vaccination required; declinations can be applied for (must include vaccination status in submission notes)
- Background: Must meet specific background compliance requirements (details to be reviewed immediately)
- Travel Experience: Preferred
Submission Requirements
- Candidates with an Arizona home address on their driver’s license will not be considered (must include a copy of driver’s license in submission)
- Complete Banner Cover Page with all requested information
- Resume must include all facilities, facility size, bed count, trauma level, and units worked in
- Skills checklist specific to SLP discipline, dated within the last year
- Driver’s license copy included
- Start date should be on or very soon after the order start date
- Return to Office (RTO) requests:
- Must be less than 7 days
- Not approved during the first week of assignment or holidays
Facility Overview
- Comprehensive medical center with Emergency Department and state-designated trauma center
- Includes Behavioral Health Pavilion, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services
- Specialty services: diabetes treatment and education, geriatrics care, orthopedics
- Accredited Cardiac Receiving Center and “senior-friendly” hospital (NICHE designation)
- Strong community involvement with free screenings, health fairs, and outreach programs
Additional Notes
- Learning modules must be completed prior to assignment start
- Non-billable hours adjusted to 16 hours per assignment
- Assignments may be canceled with 7 days written notice without penalty
This position is ideal for experienced Speech and Language Pathologists who meet the licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, comprehensive medical center environment.
