Travel RN ICU Opportunity - North Richland Hills, TX
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU / CCU
- Location: North Richland Hills, Texas
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Weekend rotating, 7 PM - 7 AM
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Call Requirements: No
- Unit: ICU (650)
- Classification: RN-CCU/ICU
Unit & Hospital Highlights
- Very high acuity ICU unit with advanced care including ECMO, heart transplant, CABG, and post-CABG care.
- Unit recognized with Beacon Award.
- Hospital is Magnet recognized and a Level III Trauma Center.
- Unit certifications include Stroke and Critical Care designations.
- Patient care includes ventilated patients and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Procedures performed under intensivist supervision.
- Bedside shift report with whiteboard updates required.
- Floating policy: May float to other ICUs or rarely to PCU based on volume and acuity.
- Documentation system: Meditech.
- Scheduling: Every other weekend, overtime available.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience (higher of 1 year stated elsewhere and 2 years here, so 2 years required)
- Licenses: Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- Skills:
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Ventilator management
- Post CABG care
- CPR
- Preferred: Meditech experience, CVICU experience
Prior Travel Experience

Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines
- Scrub color: Royal Blue for RNs
- Nails: Clean and healthy; no artificial, gel, or next-gen nails
- Hair: Neat, clean, no extreme styles or colors; must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer when working in the lab
- Facial hair: Clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
- Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; no visible nose, tongue, or other piercings
Additional Notes
- High acuity environment requiring strong critical care skills.
- Floating to other units may be required based on patient volume.
- Emphasis on professional behavior; rudeness is not tolerated.
