Pharmacist Travel Position - Independence, Missouri

Unit Information

• Department: Inpatient Pharmacy
• Hospital Beds: 285 (all private rooms)
• Staffing: Approximately 50 team members (30 pharmacists, 20 technicians)
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: Majority pharmacists are decentralized; 2 pharmacists in Main Pharmacy
  • Evening Shift: 2 pharmacists in Main Pharmacy, 2-3 technicians
  • Night Shift: 1 pharmacist, 2 technicians
• Equipment Used: Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge
• EMR System: Meditech
• Call Requirements: None
• Weekends: As scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS / BLS certification
• NICU experience

Typical Responsibilities

• Vancomycin, Aminoglycoside, and Anticoagulant dosing
• Pain consults
• Medication verification
• Supervising technicians in compounding sterile IVs (using Dose Edge), checking Pyxis, managing first doses, and emergency medication boxes

Dress Code

• No specific scrub color required
• Avoid unacceptable attire (details not specified)
