Pharmacist Travel Job Opportunity

Location: Independence, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

Setting: Inpatient Pharmacy
Hospital Size: 285 beds, all private rooms
Staffing: Approximately 50 team members (30 pharmacists, 20 technicians)
Shifts:
- Day Shift: Majority decentralized pharmacists, 2 in Main Rx
- Evening Shift: 2 pharmacists in Main Rx, 2-3 technicians
- Night Shift: 1 pharmacist, 2 technicians
Equipment Used: Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge
EMR System: Meditech

Job Requirements

Education: Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School
Licensure: Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri
Experience: Minimum 2 years in pharmacy specialty (higher requirement applied)
Preferred Skills:
- ACLS / BLS certification
- NICU experience

Typical Responsibilities

Vancomycin, Aminoglycoside, and Anticoagulant dosing
Pain consults
Medication verification
Supervising technicians in sterile IV compounding (using Dose Edge), Pyxis checks, first doses, and emergency medication boxes

Work Environment

No specific scrub color required
No call requirements
Weekend work details not specified
