Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Voorhees, New Jersey
Facility Type: Level III High Risk Facility


Job Overview

  • Work at a high-risk obstetrics unit (HROB) with 16 rooms caring for early inductions, antepartum, and patients on continuous monitoring.
  • Floating to HROB unit as needed; may float to up to two nearby lower-volume hospitals (floating uncommon for L&D RNs).
  • Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH).
  • Block scheduling considered but not guaranteed.
  • Return to Office (RTO) required at time of submission; no RTO after submission accepted.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Requirements

  • 2.5 to 3 years of nursing experience.
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only.
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
  • Active New Jersey nursing license.
  • Must pass a Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing contract (only 2 attempts allowed, must be taken on a PC, not iOS devices). Failure results in contract cancellation and denial from the hospital system.
  • First-time travelers accepted.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EPIC charting system.

  • Scrubs.

Key Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation.
  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID).
  • Proof of E-Verify or Attestation.
  • Certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of contract start.
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement.
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
  • Color Blind Testing within 1 year of start.
  • Facility-specific documents including badge photo and non-employee access forms.
  • Physical exam within last 12 months.
  • Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation (required before first shift).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with specific protocols for positive responders).
  • Annual TB questionnaire.
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or declination)
    • Varicella
  • 10-panel drug screen without THC panel within 6 months of start (updated annually).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (deadline October 31).
  • Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better).
  • Latex questionnaire.
  • Background check covering 7 years, updated annually.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
  • Two professional references within last 2 years.
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually).
  • Work history verification for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start date verified).

Important Notes

  • Dysrhythmia test must be taken on a PC, not on iOS devices.
  • Only two attempts allowed for Dysrhythmia test; failure results in contract cancellation and denial from the hospital system.
  • Floating assignments will always be within the nurse’s scope of practice.
  • No local rate available for this position.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with high-risk OB experience who meet the certification and licensing requirements and are comfortable with floating as needed.
