Position Details

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 36
Patient Ratios: 1:4 / 1:5
Staffing: Secretary daily, PRN techs available
Equipment:
- PD Cyclers
- Welch Allyn VS Carts
- Hoyer Lift
- Broda Chairs
- Alaris IV Pumps
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week block
Floating Policy: May float over core staff
Patient Experience:
- Bedside shift report
- Safety checks every 1-2 hours
- Emphasis on communication and responsiveness

Required Certifications & Licenses

BLS (Basic Life Support)
Registered Nurse License
NIHSS certification

Skills & Responsibilities

Perform basic patient assessments and general care
Manage wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes
Care for patients with strokes and seizures
Experience with dialysis or PCA pumps (Heparin drip only)
Post-op care including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs

Unit Policies & Guidelines

Dress Code: Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue
Infection prevention: CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
Fall prevention protocols
100% medication scanning, including controlled substances
Attendance per policy

Team Environment

Supportive, experienced leadership and charge nurses
Team-oriented, motivated group focused on patient outcomes
Travel nurses treated as core staff with equal accountability and recognition
