Unit Information

• Unit: Emergency Department (ED) at a hospital with 11 beds
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Staffing:

  • 2 day shift nurses
  • 2 midshift nurses
  • 2 night shift nurses
• Equipment:

  • POC Lab model
  • EKG
  • C1 ventilator
  • Baxter pumps
  • Glucometer
  • Cardiac monitors
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling:

  • 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
  • 4 twelve-hour weekend shifts per month
• Floating Policy: Not applicable
• Patient Experience Goal: 80% or above satisfaction

Required Skills & Certifications

• Must Have:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Preferred: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – preferred but not required
• Advanced Skills: Ability to run labs ordered by nursing staff
• Procedures Performed:

  • Application of OCLs (Oxygen Concentrators/Devices)
  • Breathing treatments
  • Conscious sedations

Dress Code

• Navy Blue Scrubs
