Travel RN Opportunity - Emergency Department, Virginia

Location: Blacksburg, VA (Christiansburg area)
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Emergency Department (ED)
• Number of Beds: 11
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Staffing:

  • 2 day shift nurses
  • 2 midshift nurses
  • 2 night shift nurses
• Equipment:

  • POC Lab model
  • EKG
  • C1 ventilator
  • Baxter pumps
  • Glucometer
  • Cardiac monitors
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements:

  • 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
  • 4 twelve-hour weekend shifts per month
• Floating Policy: Not applicable
• Patient Experience Requirement: 80% or above satisfaction

Required Certifications & Skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred but not required
• Advanced skills: Nursing staff run labs ordered on unit
• Procedures performed:

  • Application of OCL’s (Oxygen Concentrators/Lines)
  • Breathing treatments
  • Conscious sedations

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Emergency Nursing specialty
