Travel Dietitian Opportunity - El Paso, Texas
Position Details
- Specialty: Dietitian (NICU and Adult populations)
- Location: El Paso, Texas
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Day shift)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Call Requirements: None
- Weekend Work: As needed
Unit Information
- Unit: Clinical Dietitian Department
- Number of Beds: 350
- Staffing: 4 Full-Time Registered Dietitians (RDs), including Clinical Nutrition Manager (CNM); 2 full-time positions currently open
- Patient Load: Average 10-15 patients per day
- EMR System: Meditech
- Communication Tools: iPhones for team communication, iMobile app for quick nutrition recommendations
- Order Writing Privileges: Ability to add oral supplements, downgrade diets, and modify enteral nutrition orders after MD initiates
Required Certifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD)
- Licensed Dietitian (LD) in Texas
Desired Skills and Experience
- Must Have:
- Critical care experience
- Experience with adult and geriatric populations
- Preferred:
- NICU experience to support NICU RD during PTO
Typical Procedures
- Nutrition-focused physical exams
Work Environment & Culture
- Collaborative team environment including MDs, RNs, Speech-Language Pathologists, Diabetes Educators, and Case Managers
- Flexibility to cover patients throughout the facility
- Experienced leadership: CNM and senior RD with 10+ years at the facility
- RD office located outside of Dietary department for a quieter workspace
Dress Code
- Olive green scrubs (moss color in FIGS brand)
- Certain attire is not acceptable (specifics not provided)

- Best Practice for Wound Care Initiative: RDs receive nutrition consult reflex when wound care is consulted
