Description

Travel RN - Labor and Delivery

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Facility Overview

  • Unit: Labor and Delivery (Women’s Pavilion)
  • Facility Type: Stand-alone women’s health facility with services including obstetrics, gynecology, neonatal care, and advanced surgical options
  • Unit Beds: 16 LDRs, 5 Triage (OBED), 7 Antepartum
  • Patient Ratio: 1:2
  • Unit Staffing: Unit clerk and ORT available 24/7
  • Equipment: Fetal monitors
  • Documentation System: Meditech / CPN mostly
  • Shift: 7 PM – 7:30 AM (1 shift per day)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Floating: Required as needed

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of hospital or specialty experience in Labor and Delivery (higher experience requirement used)
  • Certifications:
    • Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Skills:
    • Fetal monitoring (with required certifications)
    • Experience with vaginal deliveries and Caesarean sections

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Meditech documentation system

Additional Information

  • Dress Code:
    • Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
    • Clean, healthy nails
    • Neat, clean hair with no extreme styles or colors
    • Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
    • Body art should be covered when possible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
  • Call and weekend requirements to be discussed during interview
  • Must be willing to float per unit policy
