Travel RN - ICU (Denver, Colorado)

Position Details

Unit Information

Unit: ICU (21 beds)
Staffing: 45 total staff
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse (no patient assignment), 6-8 nurses
- Night Shift: Similar staffing as day shift
Patient Ratios:
- Standard ICU: 2:1 nurse to patient
- Step-down patients: 3:1
- Very high acuity: 1:1
Equipment: Hospira IV pumps
EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills

Vasopressor IV drip titration
Ventilator management
Care of sepsis, arrhythmias, and med/surg critical care patients

Preferred Skills

Cardiac experience
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)

Typical Procedures Performed

Intubation
Central line insertion
Bronchoscopy
Endoscopy

Work Environment & Expectations

Team-oriented unit with a good sense of humor valued
Required to work every 3rd weekend and one major winter holiday
Self-scheduling
Float to Telemetry and other hospitals within the system
Small community hospital setting with mostly elective patients
Magnet designated facility
Intensivist coverage in ICU 24/7
