Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

Position Details

• Shift: 4x10 hour days, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Start Date: ASAP
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: Call rotation, approximately 10 days per month including weekends
• Call: Assigned call schedule averaging 10 days/month
• Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live more than 70 miles from facility)
• Pending License: Accepted at manager's discretion
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed; facility may low census/cancel up to 36 hours per contract
• Scrubs: Provided
• Parking: Onsite, no fee

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Epic experience required

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience working in Outpatient, Inpatient, and Adult ICU settings
• Proficient with PACS, C-Arm, Contrast, and Biopsies
• Experience with:

  • Stents, angioplasty, angiograms
  • Paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrogram
  • Peripheral procedures, biopsies, drainages
  • Vascular studies, venous access
  • Neuro studies, genitourinary (GU), abdomen and pelvis, upper/lower extremity procedures
• Ability to use and deploy pushable/detachable coils
• Skilled in use of micro catheters and micro wires
• Skilled in use of Snare Kits
• Experience with injector systems, preferably ACIST

Holiday Work Requirement

• Must be available to work 4 out of 8 major holidays:
  Halloween, Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• If contract ends before Christmas, must work 2 out of 4 holidays within contract period: Halloween, Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving, Black Friday
• No exceptions

• 356-bed non-profit, research and academic medical center
• Provides tertiary care for eastern Missouri region
• Part of a larger health system and affiliated with a medical school

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county history, nationwide search, sex offender search
• State-specific background checks and registries as required for Missouri
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Negative drug screen within 12 months
• Immunizations and titers:

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP as applicable
  • Hepatitis B titer/series or declination
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccination proof
  • Varicella titer or vaccination proof
  • TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray if positive PPD within 5 years
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (annual)
  • COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start for fit testing (fit test done onsite during orientation)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and training, including:

  • Confidentiality and security agreements
  • Standards of ethical conduct and relevant policies
  • Cath Lab and ICU/CCU specific online training (e.g., AbioMed Impella)
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background)
• Completion of orientation checklists post-start

Additional Notes

• Return-to-Office (RTO) requests must be submitted with application; additional requests subject to manager approval
• Candidate must comply with all facility-specific policies and training requirements
• No floating outside scope of practice
• Candidate must be willing to comply with fit testing requirements, including being clean-shaven if required for mask fit
