Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Unit

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Specialty: Cardiac Nursing (CMH Cardiac 5C)
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing

Job Summary

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Care is delivered using the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and available resources within the institution's philosophy.

Responsibilities

Perform all unit-specific nursing duties within the scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to cardiac nursing practice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on ongoing evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with colleagues to resolve issues and provide constructive feedback.
Identify personal learning needs and pursue professional development.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Requirements

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience.

Education

Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications & Licensure

Illinois State RN License in good standing
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a cardiac nursing background seeking a clinical nursing role in Illinois.
