Job Opportunity: RN Critical Care (Travel)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Travel RN position in critical care to replace a previous traveler contract.
- Facility has a 35.7% RN vacancy rate.
- Supports virtual nursing which affects staffing levels.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – American Heart Association only
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Permanent RN License – Primary source verification required within 30 days of start; temporary licenses not accepted. Must be valid and renewed every 2 years.
Required Health & Immunization Credentials
- COVID-19 Vaccine – Preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if low titer.
- Varicella – Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if low titer.
- Hepatitis B – Proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers within 15 years.
- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) – Proof of vaccination within past 10 years; declinations not accepted.
- Influenza Vaccine – Required during flu season (Oct-Mar) or approved medical/religious exemption.
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) – Negative test within last 6 months; annual requirement. If positive, clear chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required.
- Fit Test – Completed within 1 year of start; specific approved mask models listed.
- Physical/Health Statement – Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions.
Background & Professional Requirements
- Criminal Background Check – Must be completed within 6 months prior to start; includes SSN trace, county searches, national criminal sweep, and NSO.
- Ohio Fingerprints – Required for Ohio residents (5+ years: Ohio BCI&I + FCRA-compliant national check; <5 years: Ohio BCI&I + FBI fingerprint check). Attestation allowed if pending.
- Social Security Trace – If not included in background check, must be completed within 1 year prior to start.
- National Database Criminal Background Check – For Ohio residents to meet fingerprint requirements.
- Drug Screen – 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screens not accepted.
- Education Verification – Highest level of education verified; international equivalency required if applicable.
- Employment Verification – Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party.
- UHS I-9 Attestation – Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- UHS Social Security Number Trace – If not included in background check, to be completed within 1 year prior to start.
- UHS NSO (National Sex Offender) Check – If not included in background check, to be completed within 30 days prior to start.
Competency & Training Requirements
- UHS Competency Exam – Must score at least 80%; completed within 1 year prior to start.
- UHS Core Competencies – Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required; completed within 1 year prior to start.
- UHS Skills Checklist – Clinical skill-specific checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (initial hire only).
- UHS Module Completion Certificate – Safety and compliance training modules must be completed prior to clearance.
- UHS OIG Search – Completed within 6 months prior to start; initial hire only.
- UHS SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Search – Completed within 6 months prior to start; initial hire only.
Additional Requirements
- Resume and Work History – Must include education and work history, plus 2 professional references within last 2 years.
- Job Application – Candidate must complete agency form.
- Driver’s License/State ID – Non-expired photo ID required.
- UHS Badge Photo – Professional headshot required (JPEG format).
