Travel RN Opportunity – NICU Nurse

Location: Frisco, Texas

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 3 patients per nurse
• Staffing: Minimum of 2 NICU RNs per shift
• 24/7 in-house coverage by Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, OB hospitalists, and anesthesiologists
• New service line opening October 15th with state-of-the-art equipment
• Equipment includes GE Bedside Monitors, Giraffe and Panda Warmers, Natus Neoblue phototherapy lights, Neomed and Medfusion Feeding/Medication pumps
• Documentation systems: Meditech and CPNS
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts, weekend every other weekend
• Floating: As needed to the Newborn Nursery

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of hospital or specialty NICU experience
• Must have experience with:

  • Care for infants requiring CPAP or ventilation
  • Central line care
  • Stabilization and attending deliveries
  • Developmental care
• Procedures performed on unit:

  • Assist with line placement
  • Assist with circumcision
  • Assist with intubation

Certifications & Licenses

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• STABLE certification

Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines

• Scrubs: Royal Blue Medical City Healthcare scrubs (must be purchased from designated supplier)
• Nails: Clean and healthy; no nail polish, artificial nails, gel, or similar enhancements
• Hair: Neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors; hair shoulder length or longer must be pulled back when working in the lab
• Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; uncovered tattoos addressed individually
• Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; no visible piercings such as nose or tongue rings
• No perfumes or lotions allowed on the unit

Additional Information

• Floating to the Newborn Nursery may be required
