Special Procedures Tech - Travel Opportunity

Job Description

• Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Perform and assist in procedures such as Angiography, Angioplasty, Atherectomy, Stenting, Embolizations, Declotting, Central Line placement, Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE), Pulmonary Embolism studies with intervention, and more.
• Must be able to scrub, circulate, and operate equipment during these cases.

Unit Information

• Special Procedures Lab within Imaging Services Department
• Hospital size: 186 beds
• IR Department staff: 6 members (3 Radiology RNs and 3 IR Technologists on day shift)
• Equipment: GE systems
• EMR system: Meditech

Required Skills and Experience

• Ability to scrub and circulate cases with familiarity in sterile procedures
• Experience working in an Interventional Lab
• Experience with guidewire and catheter exchanges in a sterile environment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty (Special Procedures Tech)

Preferred Skills

• Strong Interventional Radiology (IR) background and experience
• Ability to operate MacLab Hemodynamic System

• Embolization and Coiling
• Pulmonary procedures

• Mesenteric Arteriography and Feeding Tube placements
• Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) Filters

Certifications Required

• R.T.(R)(ARRT)
• Texas Medical Board - Medical Radiologic Technologist (TMB-MRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Vascular Interventional Registry or Cardiovascular Registry preferred

Work Environment and Additional Info

• Floating between Radiology and Cath Lab as needed
• Dress code: Gray scrubs
• Rotating call schedule required
• Personality fit: Outgoing, flexible, dependable, punctual, and open to change
