Radiation Oncology Position - Bangor, ME

Location: Bangor, Maine
Specialty: Radiation Oncology
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)


Facility Overview

  • Level II Trauma Center serving 2/3 of the state, closest trauma center within a 2-hour radius
  • Certified Stroke Center
  • 411 beds
  • Equipment includes three Varian TrueBeam Linacs and one Siemens Somatom Go Open Pro CT Simulator

Position Details

  • Start Date: November 25
  • Patient Care Areas: Outpatient & Inpatient
  • Patient Population: Primarily Adult/Geriatrics, very few Pediatrics
  • Average Patients Seen Per Day: 90 across three linacs

Licensure & Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (T) certification required
  • Maine State Radiation Therapy License

Skills & Experience

  • Preferred experience with Mosaiq EMR system
  • Preferred experience with Varian TrueBeam Linacs
  • Candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered depending on type of experience
  • First-time travelers are accepted

Technology & Equipment

  • EMR: Mosaiq
  • Equipment: Varian Linacs

Work Schedule & Orientation

  • Orientation: 1 to 1.5 weeks, depending on experience and comfort level
  • No weekends or call required
  • Holiday coverage done in rotation with other techs
  • Schedule: 4-week schedules, shift specifics vary based on need
  • Time off requires manager approval

Additional Information

  • Floating: Coverage on linacs as needed
  • Dress Code: Any solid color scrubs that are professional, or facility-provided if needed
  • Parking: Free
